The Buffalo Trails Gallery was established in 1987. The gallery has an outstanding selection of original paintings by Montanans and internationally known oil and water color artists. Artist and storyteller, Bob Stayton captures the American wilderness and the magic of the west in bronze sculpture. His sculptural portrayals are of personal experiences with the people and animals depicted and each is a story cast in bronze.

Of Welsh-Irish and Cherokee decent, Bob was raised on a small farm on the east front of the Rocky Mountains in Montana. His life was filled with the adventures a young boy can easily find in 'Charlie Russell' country.

Bob started his formal art training at the age of six, under the guidance of a private art teacher. Drawings and watercolors of the scenery, wildlife and farm animals were the subjects of his beginning years.

Bob lives in the Flathead Valley of western Montana so he can be close to the foundry where his works are cast. Bob is personally involved in every aspect of the sculptures he creates.

The influence of his early encounters with nature combined with his bold Celtic and sensitive American Indian heritage form the foundation upon which Bob's works are based. Bob's sculptures are imbued with a unique blend of form, balance, rhythm, color and style that brings to life the clear primitive beauty of each piece.

Bob continues to produce original works as well as casting pieces for sale from the many current editions.
