Yurtski - Seeley Lake

Yurtski provides backcountry ski access to the Swan Mountains with four different services to meet your group needs:

1.Catered Trips include 3 prepared meals a day plus a guide and are limited to 6 in a group. All our guides are adept in the culinary arts. We will wake you up with a fire in the stove, fresh coffee or tea and cook you a hot breakfast as you prepare for the day. You will have a hearty lunch prepared for a full day of skiing, then return to the warmth of the yurt for a relaxing home cooked dinner.

2.Guided Trips are suggested for first time users or novices in the backcountry. Hiring a guide is the wise choice, if not familiar with the backcountry or route finding in avalanche terrain. Our guides have over 7 years experience in the backcountry and have been certified by the American Avalanche Institute (AAI). Our guides will lead you right to the prime terrain and deepest stashes and let you make first tracks.

3. Self Service trips include rental of the yurt and use of the facilities. Yurtski will provide a map to the yurt, directions, a key and get you pointed in the right direction.

4. Gear shuttle Service

Come on up to Yurtski and enjoy the great skiing during the day and a warm fire in your private Yurt in the evening. We offer two 20' private yurts with full accommodations for 8 people high in the Swan Mountains near the Bob Marshall Scapegoat Wilderness.

Our terrain ranges from glades to open bowls to chutes and is situated in a horseshoe shape which funnels back to the yurts. It takes most groups about 30 minutes to reach the top of the saddle; once there touring and descent possibilities are endless. We do require clients to supply their own avalanche equipment as most of the area is avalanche terrain. For those new to the backcountry, we do offer guided services to familiarize clients with safe and proper route finding, accessing snowpack stability, and finding the best terrain to fit their skill levels.
