Burke House - Hamilton
Located on the property of the historic Bitter Root Stock Farm started by copper magnate Marcus Daly in 1886, and still in operation today, this quaint farm cottage was originally a Sears/Montgomery Ward catalog house from the early 1900s and was completely renovated in 2015. This is a unique opportunity to experience Montanas history on a personal level, with views of the Daly property that continues to be a working ranch. What sets this vacation rental apart, in addition to the unique history, is the complete seclusion. You are close to town but have no nearby neighbors. In addition, guests can easily walk to the historic Daly Mansion, one of the premier museums in Montana. Any stay comes with two free passes to the museum.
The home is extremely well situated, just minutes away from downtown Hamilton with its myriad restaurants and eclectic stores, as well as to all of the outdoor opportunities that the Bitterroot valley has to offer. This includes cross country skiing), downhill skiing and snow-mobiling in the winter, and fly fishing, hiking, bicycling, golfing and horse back riding in the summer. Countless National Forest trailheads are accessible from this central location. The options are endless!
Missoula, home of the University of Montana and additional stores and restaurants, is less than an hour away and is serviced by the Missoula International Airport, itself undergoing an extensive renovation and expansion to better serve the many who have already discovered the beauty and appeal of the Bitterroot valley.
This is a cozy, two-bedroom home that comfortably sleeps 4, with room for a 5th person on a couch. In addition, there is ample room on the property to pitch a tent. Among the features of our home are: a brand new kitchen with a small, separate dining area, a completely renovated bathroom, a laundry/mudroom and many brand new appliances. There is wifi throughout the house, and Roku access to television and Netflix programs as well as DVDs and a DVD player. However, you will not want to watch TV, as it is the views of the Sapphire range to the east and the Bitterroot mountains to the west that will keep you coming back.
We also have two fenced corrals to accommodate horses, and we will welcome other pets on a case-by-case basis. A back patio with a BBQ grill, Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and a front porch to relax on, are the icing on the cake. We look forward to your visit. Experience a slice of history by staying on the historic Daly property!
