Youre invited to a triple celebration:

#1 Its the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act! Our Glacier National Park Star Party is on the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River, which forms the southwestern border of the park.

#2 Last year, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park became the worlds first transboundary International Dark Sky Park! This is kind of a big deal. Especially when viewing Montanas star studded skies.

#3 Our launch date, August 12, is predicted to be the height of the 2018 Perseids Meteor Shower! You can learn more about the Perseids Meteor Shower here were hoping for clear night skies filled with falling meteors. Where could be a better place to watch a major meteor shower than on the border of an International Dark Sky Park, on a Wild and Scenic River?

So, its time to celebrate. Lets go on a Glacier National Park Star Party Float! Well take duckies also called inflatable kayaks down the North Fork of the Flathead River and spend the night in Polebridge to celebrate Glaciers starry, dark skies. The next day, well continue our float down the North Fork of the Flathead River, and should return to West Glacier around 5pm.

DIRECTIONS from the WEST (Whitefish/Columbia Falls)

1. Start on US-93 S (Spokane Ave) go south 2.2 mi

2. Turn left at MT-40 go 4.5 mi

3. Continue on US-2 through Columbia Falls go 2.7 mi

4. Continue on US-2 go 16 mi

5. When you pass the KOA campground we are .5 miles ahead on the Left

6. Turn left about half a mile mile marker 151 The left turn is directly across from the Crown of the Continent Discovery Center, and is just after a BLUE RAFT on a BLUE BUS and the GLACIER GUIDES AND MONTANA RAFT SIGN.

DIRECTIONS FROM the EAST (East Glacier or downtown West Glacier)

1. If coming out of Glacier Park turn right on US 2.

2. Go 1.5 miles west of West Glacier on US-2.
