Davis Mountain Trail - Fortine

Davis Mountain Trail (212) has not been maintained for several years, and harvesting adjacent to and including the trail system has been fairly extensive. Following the trail should be attempted only by those very experienced in off-trail travel. The trail does join with Trail 410 which is an easy hike to the lookout, abandoned for the last 20 years. From the lookout, views of the Cabinet Mountains and Whitefish Range are quite spectacular. From Trego, travel southwest 8 miles on Road 36 to the junction with Road 48. Turn and travel for 3.5 miles, turning left onto Road 7156. This road dead ends after 2.5 miles. The trail is marked at the end of this road.
