Description

The International Wildlife Film Festival is the premier venue for wildlife and natural history films and television programs from around the world. The 30th IWFF will bring hundreds of the leading filmmakers, broadcasters, and film industry people to Missoula, Montana to celebrate and showcase the best in wildlife and natural history programming worldwide.

Members of the public will have numerous opportunities to meet one on one with filmmakers and to attend public screenings throughout each day and evening of the film festival. All films are screened at the historic Wilma Theater with a seating capacity of 1,100.

Seminars, workshops, project pitch opportunities and hosted events are held close by at the Roxy Theater, also the headquarters for IWFF and our sister festival, CINE.

Every evening of festival week IWFF hosts fantastic parties and social events with a western theme. The public is welcome to purchase tickets for these social events, while meeting filmmakers and broadcasters in an informal and intimate atmosphere. Nightly events range from a Western Barn Dance hosted by National Geographic to a Gala Awards Celebration.

The Tarkio Retreat, a new initiative of IWFF is a one day retreat held mid-week during the IWFF. Participants are taken by bus to a magnificent outdoor setting nearby, where representatives of the film industry, technology, conservation and other sectors, come together to network and participate actively in workshops. The goal of the day is to develop new, innovative and collaborative projects that will enhance the impact of media on conservation efforts worldwide. Representatives of academic institutions, policy centers, conservation and natural resource organizations and the media are all invited to attend and participate.

For children and families, opening weekend begins with the WildWalk Parade down Higgins Avenue in downtown Missoula, followed by the WildFest in Caras Park. These two events are held on opening day of IWFF, Saturday rain or shine.

Please visit our website at www.wildlifefilms.org for more information on the many events of the IWFF and to find out how you can participate or attend.

Our mission - to promote awareness, knowledge and understanding of wildlife, habitat, people and nature through excellent film, television and other media.
