Restored to its former "glory days" appearance and located just north of the Missouri River, this location makes a great overnight location for a family, romantic weekend for two, destination wedding venue, group retreat or week long sportsman refuge. We are open all year and do elegant Elopements Monday through Thursday or on weekends in the off season if available. We feature affordable romance and adventure packages. Located on the trail of Lewis & Clark and the "Old Northern Indian Trail", the mansion sits on a 5.5 acre oasis of shade and rolling lawn which greet the weary traveler, with a warm springs creek for restful strolling or adventure hiking in the adjacent Canyon Ferry Wildlife Management Area. Brides adore our historic Country Church called Rose Chapel which handles up to 150 guests, also open year round, as well as our large outdoor Party Pavilion that seats 150 for an event dinner. This attractive old fashioned "Country Fair" look building can be heated in the Fall or Spring for Group BBQ's, Family Reunions, or Weddings. The Mansion has a separate outdoor dance floor. Renting this site for events includes all the equipment you need for up to 200. Co-Caterers, Rentals, & Bottled Water, etc. can be added for up to 500 day guests. Everyone Welcome. The Mansion touts a full spa and all the services that go with for refreshing retreats, spa parties, and rehearsal dinners. The Mansion welcomes overnight bus groups, hunters, fishermen and sportsmen of all kinds. From Bunkhouse to Cattle Baron Suite, from "Hostel Dorm" to Theme Rooms, this is casual elegance at its affordable best with accommodations for up to 40 with 7 rooms, a Hostel dorm, and 3 cabins for groups and sportsmen. A favorite with brides and Europeans. We can accommodate young families in our cabins or bunkhouse and provide a large play area including playing field, swing set, badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, and a creek platform for tangling your weary feet in our rushing creek, and a romance bridge for photos or star gazing, etc. The Mansion is a member of the Montana Association of Museums, has many Cook Family heirlooms, and is open for tours week-days or by appointment except during events.

Conveniently located near Highway 287, north of Townsend, we are centered between historic Helena and busy Bozeman, as well as Great Falls and Butte and their 4 international airports. Highway 287 is a popular route between the National Parks. Our creative chef can prepare a full or deluxe continental breakfast, candlelight dinners or yummy box lunches. Catered events in our Party Pavilion, Ground Floor Ballroom , or under rented white summer tents plus sumptuous affordable meals, and dancing under the stars is our specialty. We have a pick-up car for all Airports including an excellent small craft airport near Townsend. If you don't love antiques, big helpings, and friendly fishing advice...don't stay here. The Mansion serves comp tea every afternoon with fresh baked goodies. You may bring in your own spirits and enjoy relaxing on our two lake view decks.

The Mansion has a full service spa, including hot tub, Jacuzzis, steam closet, dry sauna, with a licensed masseuse on staff. Visit our antique shop in the old limousine garage or our new Holiday Gift Cabin. We specialize in homemade candles, soaps & potpourri. All concierge services are offered. Outfitters and boat rentals can be arranged for. Horseback riding and EZ float raft trips on the Missouri, leave right from the Mansion. Murder Mystery Dinners, Overnights and Photo Safari's are a favorite activity. Why keep unpacking when we are with-in 1 Hour of five of Montana's most famous recreation and tourists stops, including "Gates of the Mountains", "Last Chance Gulch", "Lewis n' Clark Caverns" and "Historic Virginia City". Townsend is famous for world class alternative Winter & Fall Sports; ice sailing, ice fishing, elk hunting and upland game birds. The Canyon Ferry Mansion Lake Resort is close to Mount Baldy...Helena's "secret" golf course. Local events are Fall Fest held the 1st week-end in October, Walleye Tournaments held in June & July, and the huge Broadwater County Fair & Rodeo held in the 1st week of August. Wedding Services include "no-wait licensing" M-F, blood test waivers, florals, cakes, photo, carriage rides, Dee Jays, Catering, and dress rentals for 2 to 200 or bring your own. We specialize in Military and Proxy Weddings including help with legal issues.



Beware of a friendly haunt...said to be Montana's most paranormally active Mansion with 7 house ghosts, 2 garden ghosts, and a poltergeist to boot, many stories can be shared with you by its spirited story teller and co-owner, Sandy Rose.
