DescriptionThe Battle of the Big Hole was fought on August 9 and 10, 1877 between the U.S. military and the Nez Perce. Ceremonies, demonstrations, traditional Nez Perce music and park rangers help visitors understand and remember the Battle. Living history dealing with the U.S. Army will be involved. Infantry as well as some Cavalry.
DirectionsBig Hole National Battlefield Park, site of the August 9, 1877 Nez Perce Battle is 10 miles west of Wisdom on Highway 43, about 100 miles south of Missoula.
