DescriptionViewforth lives up to its name with spectacular views from guest rooms, sitting room, dining room and front porch. Guests awaken to the sun shining on the fabled Rocky Mountain Front. The breakfast view has the distinction of looking out on either the high plains to the east or the mountains to the west. Vintage linens, fresh herbs from the kitchen garden, great foods beautifully presented, all make for memorable breakfasts.
Sitting on the front porch of the two-story cedar-shingled, Craftsman-style bungalow, guests can watch the great 'dragon clouds' muscle their way across the sky while a flock of sheep pastures quietly below. Cattle, haystacks, birds and coyotes all add to the ambience of this western setting.
Indoors the atmosphere is serene but full of quiet surprises; original artworks ranging from sixth-century Coptic textiles to contemporary calligraphy and engravings are part of the decor. Books abound and the piano is always ready to be played. A perfect get-away for an anniversary or birthday celebration and a delightful experience for the highway traveler.
Points of interest: Rocky Mountain Front access, Bob Marshall Wilderness, fishing on the Dearborn and Sun Rivers, Pishkun Reservoir, and Gibson Dam, Egg Mountain Dinosaur site, Pine Butte Nature Conservancy Area, Ulm Pishkun Buffalo Jump, Freezout Lake bird watching, and Glacier National Park.
