DescriptionA common love of fly fishing, the will to share knowledge and conserve water ways is what the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and Conclave is all about. 2008 marks the 43rd annual Conclave and the National FFF is gathering to celebrate in Whitefish.
Many prominent names in fly fishing will be at the show and join hundreds of other volunteers to make this the best fly fishing learning experience ever. The Conclave is a vast experience in fly fishing and has something for everyone including more than 100 workshops available teaching everything from lake fishing to tying specialty flies. Our special two-day youth camp and the two-day women's program provide an amazing introduction to the sport. Exhibitors will feature the latest fishing gear and items to enhance your fly fishing lifestyle. Fly tying demonstrations will highlight every type of fly imaginable. One-hour programs will entertain and inform you on various topics including outstanding conservation subject matter. Special events include book signings by published fly fishing authors, raffles, live and silent auctions, casting games, special demonstrations and much more to give you an experience you won't forget.
Whitefish is a fantastic place for a family vacation and this year Conclave features many activities aimed at providing fun for everyone. Although fly fishing drives our annual celebration, Conclave also offers activities for those of all ages who don't fish. A quick look at the schedule of Non-Angling Workshops illustrates a wealth of opportunities to learn, have fun and enjoy the people and environment that make Montana unique. Other local area activities like bicycling, historic tours, hiking, horseback rides, shopping and much more can be enjoyed and don't forget that Glacier Park is only 30 minutes away.
Conclave is a great event for those who love fly fishing for all fish in all waters. It is a place where old friends gather and new friendships are forged. The environment of celebrations and learning cannot be found anywhere else. A trip to Conclave is a cherished memory for everyone.
