DescriptionBlacktail Mountain Ski Area is affordable and family friendly. Located high above Flathead Lake in northwest Montana. All slopes are north facing and present consistent snow through mid-April.
Blacktail Mountain Ski Area offers more than 13 miles of terrain with 24 named trails, 70 acres of gladed tree skiing. 1,000 acres on Flathead National Forest. 15% novice, 70% intermediate, 15% advanced. All natural snow on north-facing slopes. There are 3 chairs: 2 doubles, 1 triple and a handle tow.
Enjoy 360 degree views of the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park from Blacktail Mountain.
Racing program for all ages. Professional ski/snowboard instruction for all ages and abilities. Ski free if your age is 7 and under or if your age is 70 and over. All fifth-graders get a free season pass with proof of grade.
Blacktail Mountain Ski Area includes a beautifully built lodge offering all amenities including fine dining in Muley's on the third floor of the lodge, as well as very affordable cafeteria style meals on the main level.
Overnight lodging and dining is conveniently located in Lakeside, Somers and surrounding towns.
DirectionsBlacktail Mountain Ski Area is located off US Highway 93, 45 minutes from downtown Kalispell and 2 hours north of Missoula, west of Lakeside on Blacktail Mountain Road. From Lakeside go west on Blacktail Mountain Road 13.2 miles.
