Chalk Up Helena! Sidewalk Chalk Art Event - Helena

Fun, art and prizes for artists of all ages and levels (amateur to professional) abound at the 12th annual Chalk Up Helena! sidewalk-chalk art event, sponsored by the Helena Public Art Committee. Individual artists and families are encouraged to participate by designing and bringing to life their visual creation, and will have the chance to win prizes donated by local businesses in a variety of categories, including a People’s Choice Award. Judges include local artists and community leaders. Additionally, for the third year in a row, individual artists will also have the opportunity to register to compete in a professional category that offers a $400 cash prize to the winner. The theme of this year’s event will be announced in March; participating artists are encouraged to create a piece of sidewalk-chalk art inspired by the theme, but this is not a requirement. Registration happens the day of the event.
