Five Years in China - Livingston

Five local artists show art from five trips taken over the past five years to China, through July 20. The show includes work by Livingston artists Abram Boise, Edd Enders, Joe Fay and Parks Reece, as well as Bozeman artist Larry Blackwood. The work in the show represents a variety of media from photography to watercolor, sculpture and painting that was either completed while the artists were in China or was, in some way, inspired by their time there. Five years ago, the artists were invited to travel to China by Yan Zhuping, a Shanghai-based art gallery owner, to collaborate with Chinese artists and to show their work at his 188ART Gallery. During their time in China, the artists toured the country with guides, did plein air painting, worked in a porcelain studio and exhibited their work. They have been invited back each year and will travel again this August to Shanghai, Jingdezheng and Hangzhou for about a month to make art, connect with the public and exhibit their work.
