The small community of Loma sits where the Marias River runs into the Missouri River. Decision Point on the Lewis and Clark trail marks the point where the expedition decided to continue following the Missouri south, rather than taking the Marias, which flows from the north. A historical marker sits on a bluff overlooking the rivers, providing beautiful views of the confluence. Like much of the region, Loma is rich with Lewis and Clark lore, and many visit the area to relive that history, as well as to boat and fish on the Missouri and Marias rivers. The Earth Science Museum displays Loma's history with an array of gems, fossils, minerals, Native American artifacts and items from the railroad era.
