Nestled at the foot of Hollowtop Mountain, the tallest and most distinctive peak in the Tobacco Root Mountains, few places can compete with Pony, Montana for sheer scenery. Once called the "metropolis of the thousand," this former mining community now houses only a few year-round residents. Nonetheless, Pony packs a punch when it comes to events and activities. Hike the ten miles to Hollowtop Lake, in the cup of the distinctive Hollowtop Mountain. Fish the beautiful North Willow Creek that runs through the middle of Pony. Soak in the bubbling mineral hot springs at nearby Norris Hot Springs. Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, the largest known limestone cavern complex in the Northwest is just twenty miles away.

For truly unique Pony events, come during the horseback Poker Ride or the Pony Bar's annual Rubber Duck Races. Pony offers the best of Montana: quirky and unique events, no nonsense hospitality, delicious food, and stunning natural beauty.
