Follow US Highway 287 north from Ennis to McAllister. Turn left at the National Forest Access sign for North and South Meadow Creeks and drive 1 mile to a junction in the road. Turn right here, proceeding up the North Meadow Creek Road for approximately 7 miles to the National Forest boundary. About 1.5 miles past the boundary the road forks. Bear left. About 1/2 mile farther down you'll cross a cattle guard and just before the bridge over North Meadow Creek a two track road takes off to the right. Follow this two track 100 yards. it ends here in an old gravel pit which serves as the trailhead and provides ample parking.
