Canyon Creek Country Store - Canyon Creek

Take a step back in time at the Canyon Creek Country Store and Post Office. Located 20 miles west of Helena Montana on the Lincoln Road or Highway 279. The original post office was established in 1871, with William Negus as postmaster, in a community just up the road called Georgetown. When the Canyon Creek Store was built in 1887 the post office was moved to Canyon Creek. The post office is said to be the oldest continually operated post office in the state of Montana. Camp sites are available for tent camping and full RV hook-ups with hot showers for guests.

Canyon Creek is nestled in the heart of prime fishing and hunting country in the summer and fall. You will find great cross country skiing and snowmobiling access close by in the winter. The Lincoln road is a favorite bicycle path for both local and national tours. You can play a game of horseshoes or stop in for a friendly beverage of your choice or a hot sandwich. Have a hand dipped ice cream cone served from our remodeled 1950s style ice cream soda fountain. Browse in the antique and collectibles. Its a welcome stop along the way to Lincoln, Marysville or Silver City. You're always greeted with a smile.
