Great Falls Historic Trolley - Great Falls

Board the climate-controlled Great Falls Historic Trolley and enjoy a fun-filled learning experience on this unique motorized vehicle. Relive the history and the excitement of this fascinating city on one-hour and two-hour sightseeing tours. Don't forget to bring your camera!

Board at the Visitor Information Center (VIC) for the one-hour "Urban Adventure" tour or the two-hour "Historic" tour. These tours provide a wonderful overview of the area, which familiarizes you for a return later to enjoy a more in-depth visit. If your time is limited, these are superb narrated traveling tours to see the sights and learn the highlights of our enchanting city and area in a short period of time.

'Christmas Luminaria' tours of spectacular light displays are nightly beginning early December through the 30th and require reservations.

Visit www.GreatFallsHistoricTrolley or call (406) 727-8255 for more information on fares and schedules. Gift certificates are available.

Choose the one-hour "Urban Adventure" tour to wind along the river and into the Historic Downtown area. See waterfalls, beautiful parks, museums, the Historic Business District, saloons, railroad area, distinctive historic homes, churches, skate park, the municipal pool and waterpark.

Come aboard the historic trolley and experience some of the sights that Lewis & Clark experienced when traveling through this area in 1805. See where they camped and hunted along the Missouri River; go by two of the six waterfalls they had to detour around (portage), and experience the beauty they saw when at the Giant Springs, where million gallons of water bubble up from underground to create the smallest river in the world--called the Roe River--a 201 foot long river that empties into the "Mighty Mo."

Learn about world-famous "Cowboy Artist," Charlie Russell, as you see the museum, the log cabin studio in which he created many of his masterpieces, and the family home. You'll also see Paris Gibson Square, the first high school building constructed in 1895-1896 of huge sandstone blocks, and named after the founder of Great Falls.

Relish the colorful flower gardens, ducks, geese and swans on the pond, the bandshell, and walking paths at Gibson Park. Let your imagination run wild as you see and learn about saloons and bars in this frontier town, as well as the Historic Railroad Area and Downtown. Visit the Historic Home District and marvel at the extraordinary architecture of beautiful homes and awe-inspiring churches.

Custom charters and non-scheduled "Historic" tours are available by reservation year-round for special occasions, family or class reunions, birthdays, educational field trips, business appreciation excursions, church or fraternal groups, Scouts, 4-H, weddings, anniversaries, conventions, etc. Group rates available.
