Rierdon Gulch Trail - Choteau

Rierdon Gulch Trail (126) is very scenic but is included in a cattle grazing allotment. Rierdon Gulch Trail is predominantly open and grassy with interspersed stands of aspen, lodgepole pine, Douglas-fir and scattered limber pine. A steep but scenic pass into Slim Gulch and the north fork of Deep Creek. Trail 1 is moderately easy in the open areas with short, more difficult pitches through the timbered areas. Obtain a copy of the Forest visitor's map to determine any travel restrictions.

Take US Highway 89 north from Choteau 5 miles, turning west on the Teton River Road 144. Follow this road for about 18 miles before turning south to the South Fork Teton Road 109. Continue 8 miles to the trailhead. Park well off the road.
